Frequently Asked Questions
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is founded upon the principles of learning theory, offering unparalleled efficacy in enhancing socially significant behavior. Renowned as the foremost treatment for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ABA Therapy is hailed for its remarkable ability to enhance the quality of life for its recipients.
Endorsed by the U.S. Surgeon General and a multitude of federal and state agencies, ABA Therapy is recognized for its effectiveness in ASD treatment. Leveraging positive reinforcement, therapists instill motivation for continual improvement, while meticulously tracking and evaluating progress to ensure seamless integration of new skills and behaviors into daily routines.
ABA therapy gives us insight into the “why” behind behavior and learning. By studying these patterns, we can provide meaningful support that helps children grow and thrive. Specifically, ABA helps us understand:
- How behavior works and how we can provide support
- How environments can affect behaviors
- How learning happens
The overall goal of ABA is to help children build skills that improve their quality of life. This means increasing helpful, positive behaviors while reducing behaviors that are harmful or that interfere with learning, independence, and day-to-day life.
ABA services can help increase:
- Communication, social skills, and overall language
- Focus, memory, and learning abilities
- Positive behaviors while reducing behaviors that may cause day-to-day disruptions
